Losing Sleep
March 9, 2009

This weekend we adjusted our clocks and 'lost' an hour from our day.  Most of us spent this time sleeping, and didn't really notice.  But how many of you are losing time every day because you cannot find something?  Statistics vary, but state that individuals lose from 10 minutes to 60 minutes per day looking for lost things.  This could be the keys, a bill that is due or an important file.

If you are the person who spends an average of 10 minutes a day looking for lost items, that may not sound like a lot of time----until you add it up over the course of a year.  Here is the math:

  • 10 minutes per day =   61 hours per year
  • 20 minutes per day = 122 hours per year
  • 30 minutes per day = 183 hours per year

Whether at work or at home, not being able to find something is frustrating and stressful.  If this is happening to you at work, think about how this translates financially!

When you are organized and have a system in place you will be more productive, be able to generate more money for your business, or simply be able to do activities you find more enjoyable.

Now instead of losing 10 minutes a day, try to spend just 10 minutes a day becoming more organized, and see the hours add up in a way that will benefit you!
