Help with Hoarding

Recently there has been a lot of media attention given to hoarding through television shows and articles. The Organizing 4 U team has been successful in helping individuals in these situations. We caution that the solutions do not occur overnight and are most successful when combined with ongoing therapy. We will be happy to discuss your unique situation and the ways we can collaborate with you, your family and/or your therapist.

If you are calling on behalf of a friend or family member, please know we will only work with the individual who is hoarding if they agree to accept our help.  To learn more about what you can do, we highly recommend Digging Out  Helping Your Loved One Manage Clutter, Hoarding & Compulsive Acquiring  by Tompkins & Hartl.  To view other titles of books on hoarding, we invite you to check out our Amazon Bookstore.

We volunteer our time with the Hoarding Connection of Cuyahoga County.  The mission of this organization is to educate the public about the need for a coordinated effort of personnel from local government, mental health and social service agencies to effectively help individuals who hoard and those working with individuals who hoard.  For more information we invite you to view a video, Hoarding is Everybody's Business, created by the Hoarding Connection with funds from the Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County and the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging.

The Hoarding Connection is offering Buried In Treasure groups in the Cuyahoga County area.  They are peer-led treatment groups that meet for 15 weeks; the cost is minimal.  For more information call The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging at 216.791.800, or email them  You can also sign up to be notified when a group will begin in your area if you follow this link:
